About Us
Built by educators, for educators.

Adam Aberman
CEO & Founder
SchoolQualityReview.ai is Adam's third venture, following the Learning Collective (2003) and icouldbe.org (2000). He brings a 25+ year track record of building organizations that improve educational outcomes.
Adam has personally conducted over 300 in-person school quality reviews across 13 states — CA, CO, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NY, and WA among them — and completed more than 2,500 classroom observations. He founded icouldbe.org, an e-mentoring nonprofit that has served over 25,000 students.
Adam started his career as a Spanish bilingual public school teacher in Los Angeles. He holds a BA from Vassar College and a Master in Public Policy with an Education focus from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Outside of work, Adam loves spending time with family, walking his dog, and cheering on the Lakers.

Joshua Cook
CTO & Co-Founder
Joshua is an AI/ML engineer, data scientist, software engineer, and former educator. His career spans genomics and healthcare (Nashville Biosciences), education technology (Edmentum), aerospace and defense AI (Hypergiant Industries), and enterprise data and AI infrastructure (Databricks). He served as CEO at Chelle AI.
A UC Berkeley undergrad, Joshua started his career as a high school teacher in underserved communities. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science, with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence, from Georgia Tech; a Masters in Educational Leadership from UCLA's Principal Leadership Institute; and a BS in Applied Mathematics from Cal State Northridge, where he was an NSF grant recipient. He has taught data science, data engineering, machine learning, and artificial intelligence at UCLA and Caltech.
Joshua is an early adopter of AI technologies and brings deep expertise in building production ML systems to SchoolQualityReview.ai.
Joshua's edge is range and speed. Over 15 years he has taken hard, ambiguous problems from concept to production across very different industries, and he builds with modern AI tooling that lets a small senior team deliver in weeks what once took large teams and months. SchoolQualityReview.ai is itself an example of that approach: research-grade software, built lean. The same method applies to almost any problem an organization needs solved in software.
When he's not coding, Joshua plays guitar, piano, and electronic music. He lives with his wife, daughter, and chihuahua.
“Every school deserves access to high-quality, research-based assessment tools.”
